MrBeast’s burger joint packs the mall
The Future. MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson) brought down the house with the launch of his first physical MrBeast Burger restaurant. While there’s plenty to be said of how influencer-driven companies can turn out to be more lucrative than the social platforms that made them famous, the real lesson may be that whatever MrBeast touches just turns to gold.
We’re gonna need a bigger kitchen
According to Fortune, MrBeast packed the house for the grand opening of his first brick-and-mortar burger joint.
- The first MrBeast Burger store opened at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, NJ, on September 4.
- Within ten minutes of unlocking the door, 10,000 customers lined up, packing the entire mall.
- According to Donaldson, the restaurant broke the record for most burgers sold in a day by a single location.
The restaurant is the first dedicated space for Donaldson’s MrBeast Burger brand, which launched as a ghost kitchen concept at the end of 2020 and has expanded across the US and Europe.
King of the creators
Donaldson said last summer that he had already made $100 million from the MrBeast Burger business… which is somehow more than the sky-high $54 million he made on YouTube last year. That’s on top of the $10 million in sales he did with his chocolate bar brand, Feastables.
All that revenue has been a boon to his hometown of Greenville, North Carolina, where he still resides. Besides the exposure he’s brought to local businesses (Sup Dogs) and spreading the wealth among residents (giveaways, extras in videos), Donaldson launched Beast Philanthropy which hosts a bi-weekly food drive for the community.
Just like MrBeast’s videos, the generosity is all around.
