Figma thinks up a digital brainstorm
The Future. Collaborative-design platform Figma raised $200 million to expand its footprint in an increasingly digitally-forward work world. With work-from-home arrangements here to stay, we may all soon be using Figma to brainstorm with teams.

The software allows users to collaborate digitally on designs in real-time via a virtual canvas.
It also recently added an audio chat function so that designers can communicate all in one platform.
It’s already being used by companies such as Netflix, Airbnb, BMW, and Discord.
Figma actually launched in 2016 and has millions of devoted users; the company expects to generate $150 million in revenue this year. But with $200 million in new funding, the company is planning a major international expansion, development of new products, and possible acquisitions.
Its newest product, FigJam, is an online whiteboard and Post-it note tool that every writer’s room in Hollywood is bound to sign up for.
