Future. A company called CryptoKickers wants to become the go-to platform for people to create and sell digital sneakers as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The platform could help mint the next great shoe designer who may have never gotten a shot if they needed to manufacture the design physically.

CryptoKickers wants to help people make “footwear for the new world.”

  • Using the Solana blockchain, CryptoKickers allows users to make digital sneakers and then mint them as NFTs.
  • Users will be able to sell the designs via Hodl, AirDrop, or on a marketplace created in collaboration with Metaplex.

Some NFT sneakers are already available on CryptoKickers, but the platform’s NFT builder has yet to launch.

If the shoe fits…
As any digitally-native consumer knows, digital sneakers are becoming all the rage. While CryptoKickers is trying to democratize their creation and sale, other platforms are turning NFT sneakers into a wild mix of art collection and streetwear hype.

RTFKT Studios made $3.1 million off of one digital shoe collection, with some shoes going for $10K a “box” (yes,  someone actually paid that). No wonder established players like Gucci and Jeff Staple are getting in on the action…
